Behind the Scenes Look at Ginger's Shower

As you all know I am totally obsessed with pies of all sorts. A few weeks ago I make mini pumpkin pie tartlettes with a maple glaze and they were so amazing so for Ginger's shower I thought it would be really cute to make lemon pie tartlettes. I am not a big fan of processed ingredients so I found THIS RECIPE for creamy lemon pie that was quiet simple and it turned out very nice. For one batch, the one pictured below I did place a single raspberry in the tartlettes but I will say that it made the pies a bit too full and a few of them overflowed so I would recommend just doing the lemon filling without the raspberry inside.  I tripled my usual crust RECIPE that I love and it made about 40 mini tartlettes. I made a very simple glaze to top the pies with. Here's the recipe:Mix together:3 cups of confectioners sugar2 tablespoons milk1 teaspoon lemon juice1 tablespoon lemon zest

I got my inspiration and RECIPE from the amazing Bakerella blog. I followed the recipe exactly but I was not able to dry my pops standing up as she suggested because they were too heavy and would slip off the stick. However, after they were dipped in chocolate and dried in the fridge I could then proceed to stand them up for the cute cake pop effect but the tops were flat were I have let them dry. One tiny snafu but otherwise they came out great!

I got the tutorial for the Pom Poms HERE on Martha Stewart and as I said before, these were very easy to make and were beautiful. They would be great for any celebration in different colors. 

I bought the paper straws from The Creative Party Place. And the gift tags that say "Ginger" were very cute but I wasn't really impressed with the quality of the cards stock do I'm not going to post were I bought those.

Christmas is Coming

It finally snowed yesterday!! HURRAY!!! Here's a shot of my little M first thing in the morning admiring the snow.The last time he saw snow he was only a few months old so this year it is really special. I can't believe Christmas is only a week away! We have out tree all set up and decorated but I haven't done ANY wrapping! I better get on the ball! Plus I have no excuse I have been seeing so many beautiful wrapping displays on all my favorite blogs. I better get to it!

I am so excited to report that my lovely little blog reached an amazing 2000 followers this week. I feel so grateful to all of you for helping me in my goal to have a successful blog and be able to stay home just a little longer with my babies. I truly love my blog and enjoy writing each and every post. 35 Weeks

How far along? 35 weeks

Baby’s Size: More than 5  pounds now

Bellybutton: Still in

Stretchmarks: Still no new ones. Thank God!! I have enough from pregnancy round one!

Maternity Clothes: Of course! 

Gender: Little baby girl! My sweet Ginger!

Movement: Yes, lots of movement. She's big enough now that I often can't breathe because her feet are in my lungs or my rib cage. 

Sleep: Still doing okay in this department. I'm up several times during the night but I'm still getting 2 hour stretches without having to use the restroom.

Symptoms: Lots of Braxton Hicks. I'm starting to get nervous she will come early because of all my activity and constantly picking up little M.  I would really like her to stay in there as long as possible. I'm not ready!!

Food Aversions: No but everything just isn't that appetizing these days

Food Cravings: Not much of anything........Not too hungry these days

Best Moments this week: Having Ginger's nursery painted. FINALLY!! We are slowly but surely moving forward!

What I miss: Being able to move easily to take care of little M

What I am Looking forward to:  Finishing the nursery:)

Milestones: 5 weeks ! WOW!
