Brutal Truth is a Beautiful Thing Interview With Ashley LeMieux

I have started a little interview process called  "Brutal Truth is a Beautiful Thing."
I'm doing this because I love to get to know the "real" people behind their blogs. I think so many of us are afraid to tell the truth whatever it may be. We want others to like us. We want others to read our blog. We don't want to scare anyone away.

Me included!!

You can read my itnterview anytime {HERE}

For the first year I never really shared a lot of personal information because I didn't think people wanted to hear it.I posted my recipes and a few cute pics of the kids and that's it. Well, I couldn't have been more wrong. Yes, people still want all the fabulous recipes and cute photos but they want to know me. I have gotten the biggest responses from my "on my heart" posts. People want to know you, what makes you you, the person you are. They want to know how you live your life. They don't want a bunch of  nonsense about how fancy your car is and perfect your life is. I think we all want to be able to relate to each other and NONE of us are perfect!!!

Today's Interview: Ashley LeMieux

What's your greatest Weakness?
I am extremely impatient. With myself, my business, unfortunately with my husband as well. I want things the way I want them, when I want them, and sometimes this drives me mad!

What's your greatest strength?
Ironically, my greatest strength is my greatest weakness. My impatience compels me to work my butt off to make things happen. I don't take no for an answer when I really want something, and I work hard until I figure out another way to get what I want done. I think this is a big reason my business has succeeded in its first year, and will continue to grow in the future.

What has elated you with joy in your lifetime?
My husband is honestly the biggest saint you'll ever meet. I love him with everything I have, and have never felt so much love in return. He makes me excited to live.

What has emotionally crippled you in your lifetime?
Being taken advantage of.

Have much have you evolved since your teenage years? Are you a similar person?
I have changed so much. I was incredibly insecure and shy as a teenager. I was always self conscious that people were talking about me, or judging me. I went to a really rich high school, and everyone was always competing with each other. However, I've always had a love for service and writing-those two things are huge parts of my life today.

What's something you don't want to tell us about?
I will be honest... I struggle with answering questions like this because I'm trying to figure out what is best to be left private. I've had many situations that I've overcome that are incredibly personal, and I dont think I'm ready to be open about them... I don't like feeling too vulnerable. So I guess that's what I don't want you to know about me... I hate feeling vulnerable. I've been burned a lot in my life by other people.

When the world is crashing down on you, where do you go?
I go to my scriptures. I turn to God, and ask and search for what He has to tell me. There is no other place where I can find truth and peace than what comes from my Heavenly Father. He gives me guidance, without fail, every single day.

Do you have any goals? What are they?
I could give you a list of a hundred pages of my goals. I'm very open about them on my blog. It's important that we're constantly reaching to achieve something. Goals should be the driving forces of our lives; without them, we won't amount to anything.

Can you honestly say you love what you do?
Oh, boy do I LOVE it. I have created the perfect job for myself...
It involves service, motivating others, writing, and changing lives. There's not much more that I could ask for.
Who has been the single most influential person in your lifetime thus far?
My little sister. She believes in me and looks up to me like I didn't know anyone could. She's only a couple years younger, and is my best friend in the whole world.
I know I could never let her down, and live my life so that I never will.

Honestly, we are all striving for something, what is your greatest goal in life? I'm not talking about money!
If you break all of my goals down, the driving force behind all of them comes down to one thing, and that's love. I want to live a life full of love, and have every single person that I meet know that someone cares about them.

Name your most defining moment in life so far!!!
I don't think I can chose just one defining moment... there are so many that have added up to make me who I am. This year, one of my most memorable was the charity event that I put on to raise scholarship money. It was amazing... and I felt proud for making it happen.

Are there people in your past that you wish you could make amends with?
I don't get mad easily, but when I do, it means that someone did something realllly bad to me. So, to those people, no..... I don't want to make amends. If that sounds harsh, it just may be! But not as harsh as what they did to me... so I move on...

What memory will be forever burned in your mind to the point where you can smell the room and feel the energy?
This past summer I watch my grandpa die. My dad and I rushed to California to be by his side. By the time we got there, he was in an induced coma. The smell of death is haunting and leaves me restless...
But I'll never forget squeezing his hand, and hearing him moan
while squeezing mine back.

What movie and or book speaks to you?
I love to read... The book To Kill a Mockingbird is one of my all-time, classic favorites-for more reasons than one.

What is your greatest wish right here and now?
To be a tool in which others are able to feel love and respect. I wish that more people were more focused on others than on themselves. I wish that heartache could be replaced with hope, and that people would stand together to give that to those in need.
