My Review
Honestly I have not been more smitten with a fashion line in years. I fell in love with everything Emersonmade sometime last year and since then have managed to acquire nearly half their fashion line. I love every single piece. Everything is made with great attention to detail and the utmost care, the packaging is gorgeous and the fabrics are stunning in person.
One of my favorite pieces I have purchased is their {Mod Little Black Dress}. It's one of the most flattering pieces of clothing I own and can be worn as a dress or tunic. It is a piece that will have as a staple in my closet for years to come.
The gorgeous {denim trousers}I am wearing are also Emrsonmade and I ADORE them. They fit like a dream and dress up or down in a flash. L*O*V*E

Wear it with heels. Wear it with boots. Wear it with a pair of EM {Lowrise Vintage Blue Bells} or EM {skinny's}. Gorgeous no matter how you wear it.

We have always used {Shutterfly} and gotten ADORABLE cards. Last year we used this photo of Milton at the Pumpkin Patch. Style Icons

Style has always been big for me. It's fun. It's a hobby I guess. I don't have one specific style but I would describe myself as classic.
Mainly my closet consists of great staple pieces. I love black, grey, camel and always a splash of color like bright red.
I usually go for preppy with a twist, sometimes bohemian, sometimes a litttle rocker but usually I play it safe.

My icons

Jackie O
She's everything I strive to be. Always and I mean always perfectly put together, timeless, classic; she's radiant!!

Forever Changed

Before I had children I was pessimistic, grouchy. I was gruff, grumpy, always had something to complain about. If there wasn't anything to worry about , I'd find something and dwell on it. Most of it was in a bit of a sarcastic manner so I don't think I was that horrible to be around. I think most of my friends thought it was kinda funny. I had been that way since I was a little kid. When I was 4 I used to go around with my fist up in the air telling people I was going to "pound them"  I know, lovely right? I was the product of a broken home at an early age so I think I was a little angry.

Well I have realized that I have COMPLETELY changed and I mean completely. The moment I laid eyes on my sweet baby boy my whole universe changed, everything inside me changed. Suddenly there was no way I could ever find anything to complain about or be grumpy about. I was over filled with JOY and GRATITUDE. It was amazing. It literally happened in a single instant. The way I acted my entire 30 years of life completely changed in a split second. Now, I find myself updating my facebook status everyday about how grateful I am and ordering T-shirts that say things like "YES!!" and "LOVE IS FREE". I'm just happy, truly happy! I think I drive my husband crazy half the time with my ridiculously happy outlook on everything!!! HA!!!

Having children was a revelation for me. Immediately I thought to myself, "what was I doing my life before I had kids?" For me having children has been the single most important, amazing, life altering experience I've ever had. Suddenly I knew my purpose. I knew what I was always meant to do. I was full. All those unanswered questions  about what I should really be doing with my life were answered in an instant. I WAS MEANT TO BE A MOTHER. period.

I am grateful, SO GRATEFUL for every moment of everyday,  for these kids and my husband and this life I have been given.I feel like my life just only truly began with the birth of my kids.  I love it. I love my life. I love that God gave me these beautiful little beings who changed me forever in the best way I can imagine. They gave me the true meaning of my life. They let me experience the true meaning of real joy.

Over the past few days for some reason I have had this on my heart and I wanted to share it with you all. I had wrist surgery on Tuesday. I am healing but the proceedure was a little more involved than we had hoped so it's slow going and I'm not sure how long it might be until I can cook again so my wonderful friend Lindsay at Lee La La suggested I do a post about what's on my heart and I'm so glad I did. Thanks for listening friends. I hope to be back to cooking up a storm in no time!!

Pumkin Pie Tartlettes with Maple Glaze and Linky Party

Well folks. I am down right overwhelmed. I never got around to cooking with my surgery. I go back to work full time tomorrow and I have a lot of catch up to do on this blog so this linky will be up for a few days but I promise some really amazing giveaways and posts are coming over the next 2 weeks including my before and after wight loss photos and how I lost 104 pounds!!!! YAY!
This is a recipe from last year but one of my absolute favorites. I loved this!!!!!! They turned out amazing!!!
Hope you'll give them a try!

For the Crust:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks or 8 ounces) unsalted butter, cold, cut into cubes
1 large egg
2 tablespoons milk
1 large egg (for brushing the dough)
For the Filling:
3/4 cup pureed pumpkin
1 large egg
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup granulated sugar
Maple Glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
2 teaspoons maple syrup
2 tablespoons milk
To prepare the Crust:
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, sugar and salt.  Add the cold butter and break it up in the flour mixture using your fingers, a pastry cutter or a food processor.  There may seem like there’s a ton of butter in your flour.  There is.   Work it in until only pea sized lumps remain in your mixture.  The mixture should also hold together when squeezed into a ball.
In a small bowl, beat the egg with the milk.  Add the mixture all at once to the dry ingredients and stir to make sure that moisture is introduced to all of the flour mixture.  Lightly dust a clean counter with flour and knead the dough on the floured counter for a few turns until it really starts to come together.  Divide the dough in two, wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 30 minutes.  I find that the dough is just a bit easier to work with when it’s chilled.
While the dough is chilling, prepare the filling:
In a small sauce pan, heat pumpkin puree and spices over medium heat.  Just heat through until the spices become fragrant.  This helps to bring loads of flavor into the filling.  Remove from heat and place spiced pumpkin in a medium sized bowl.  Whisk in egg, salt and sugar and place in the fridge to rest while you roll out the dough.
On a well floured work surface, roll out one of your dough balls until desired thickness and cut with floured round cookie cutter. I like to gather these and then go ahead and gather the little disks and set aside. Then I roll put the other dough ball and repeat cutting the disks until finished. Now we are ready to add our fillling.
Brush one set of circles with beaten egg.  This will act as the glue for the top layer of dough.  Spoon about one tablespoon of pie filling into the center of each brushed dough square.  DO NOT OVERFILL! Top with a piece of dough and use a floured fork to crimp the sides closed.  Use the tines of the fork to create vent holes in each tart.
Position a rack in the upper third of the oven and preheat to 350 degrees F.  Let tarts rest in the fridge for 30 minutes while the oven preheats.
Remove tarts from the fridge and place in the oven to bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
While the tarts bake, whisk together ingredients for the glaze and set aside.
Let baked tarts rest on a cooling rack to cool completely before glazing.  Best served within 2 days.

The Pumpkin Patch

Despite my surgery on Tuesday we did manage to make it to the pumpkin patch this weekend. We had such a blast. Little Ginger loved standing up on the pumpkins and Milton of course just ran wild picking up one pumpkin after the next!
There were so many photos that I decided to finally try out making a few simple photo collages. I have been wanting to learn to do this forever and just never could find the time or patience but I have to tell you if you just want to make simple collages {picnik} is the way to go. It was SO, so easy!

What I Wore After Surgery

Wrist surgery on Tuesday did not go as well as expected and I ended up going under general anesthesia for the first time in my life. Well,  lets just say that General anesthesia and I do not get along. I couldn't hold a single thing down for 4 days. I had to miss an entire week of work and so did my poor hubby so he could care of the kids.
Well, All I can say is that I am very grateful it is over and I am okay now. I'm still a bit nauseous and in a lot of pain but I am doing much better.
In fact, I think we may even brave the pumpkin patch with the kids today.
Next week I hope to be well enough for my chocolate, pumpkin mini breads.
Love to you all!!!
