I love seeing these crayon ideas because in my third grade class we had a class project called The Creative Crayon Company where we did this in all types of shapes and sizes. Then we sold them to the rest of the school.

Each of us had a week when us and our group would go into school early to peel the broken crayons we had collected and separate them :)
