One my best runs EVER and a HUGE lesson

This morning I had one the best runs I've ever had. I ran fast and and my shin wasn't acting up at all.

WHY?

I rested for 2 days straight. and I bought ANOTHER....yes ANOTHER pair of Mizuno's!!!!

Ugh.....I am so mad at myself right now but you know what we all make mistakes and have to learn from them.

MY beloved Ruby Crystal Mizuno's are made for Neutral runners and I knew this when I bought them but I thought, oh I just over pron ate a LITTLE bit, It will be fine.

NOT FINE!!!

I only did 2 short runs and my shin splint was worse so I had to go back and reorder my wave inspire 8's and guess what,  I tore it up this this morning with no pain whatsoever so I don't care how cute the shoes are. If you are even slightly hesitant about whether they are right for you......DON"T DO IT!!! GO SAFE even if the shoes are ugly!

THE DAY I WENT BROKE ON RUNNING SHOES!!!!

See.......I told you I looked like a hobo on most days:)

SO the great news is now I know I am going to dominate that marathon in a couple weeks!!!! And I had a fantastic run this morning. I ran fast and hard. 8 miles with 8.52 min/mile average, lots of hills and dipped into the 7's a lot!!! AT about mile 6 I looked down and I was running 7.47 min/mile and I started to tear up...........There is NOTHING and I mean NOTHING like working hard day after day after day and having it pay off, seeing the results first hand. It's absolutely amazing!!!

I'm starting to think that HORRIBLE speed work I did last week actually helped me!!!!
BOSTON 2013 I'm coming for you!!!!!!!

That is amazing! I know what's it like to have a hard time finding the perfect runner! I feel bad because my hubsand just bought me a new pair and unfortunately they aren't the best. So, I wear them for some training things but not long distance running. I can only imagine what must be going through your head when you are running amazing distances & speeds! GO GIRL!!!! I will continue to say, you are such motivation for me. I've started running again and am working up to a 10K race for next month. I have a tendency to try and start training for bigger races & give up because I'm not there yet.. Easy does it, I have to remember!
Sweet kicks & keep up the running!
WHOOP WHOOP!!!!!

Whoa! Those new shoes look pretty slick too.
I finally bought myself new running shoes and in the process of breaking them in.
I am also getting back into the running, I had before, but my trainer told me not to run everyday ): So I had to do different cardio workouts each day. But now I can finally get my mile down to 9 minutes. yay!! haha

I just went back and re-read this post. You have such determination. You know what? On my (Crazy) 11pm run last night, I went farther before having to slow down to walk. I felt the "high" of running and that soreness in my legs, loved it. I am remembering why I loved running so much and am so glad I'm back at it. A BIG thanks to YOU lady for the continuous support, inspiration, positiveness & REAL truth about your life. REALness matters! xoxo
