Well, I think it's safe to say that I need to restrict a little bit with my eating habits.
Yes, I am pregnant but I have no boundaries. I mean look at this. This is what I feel like snacking on!
When I'm not pregnant, I wouldn't DREAM of eating processed icing out of a jar! GROSS!!!!!
When I'm not pregnant I have no problem eating clean and sticking to the program but once I'm pregnant I figure, "oh who cares, I'm pregnant, I can eat whatever I want!"
NOT!!!!
Hence a 12 pound weight gain in 15 weeks. I know 12 pounds isn't THAT much but I can feel it spiraling out of control and will be 50 in no time flat!!!!
I'm not having it. It mainly bothers me when I run. I feel SO heavy and it hurts. The chub on the back of my arms actually flaps around along with my thighs and love handles.
Do you have any idea how hard it is to lug 12 extra pounds around when your trying to run 5 or 10 miles.

I totally have issues with food and have very little self control in CERTAIN situations, one of them being pregnancy. NOT PREGNANT. NO PROBLEM!
Everyone tells you, you should just eat what you want because your eating for two! WRONG!!!! Just because your pregnant doesn't give you the right to pig out on everything in sight.
Yes, I agree, you need to eat more than you were eating before you were pregnant and you need to make sure your getting plenty of all the food groups. OF COURSE but you don't need to eat icing out of the jar, ice cream every night and chocolate cake for a snack.
I can preach this because I weighed 245 pounds at one point and guess what I have never been so miserable in my entire life and I have never had to work SO hard to get thin again. Here's how I did it in case you've never read it! Doesn't even look like me does it?
I got that way because I thought I should be "eating for two" NOOOOOOOOO BIG MISTAKE!! IN fact you should be eating ONLY 300 extra calories a day. That's it. NO MORE!!! That is a granola bar people, not a pint of ice cream!!!!

Sure it's fun while it lasts but then the baby comes out and doesn't weigh 100 pounds and your the one left to deal with it while feeling miserable, uncomfortable, in pain, unattractive, and just plain miserable.
SO I need a game plan!!!!! Good thing it's not too late.
I have to be able to feel like I can "indulge" a little because I'm pregnant or I'll be miserable so I just need to pick a handful of indulgence snacks and keep them handy. I'm thinking,
*Greek Yogurt
* oatmeal with honey and fruit
* LOTS and LOTS of fruit and berries
* Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches
*cereal with almond milk
Have any other healthy snack suggestions for me to stay healthy while pregnant????
Mind you I do still run 13-20 miles a week!!!!!!

make GIANT protein shakes or fruit smoothies! If you hone your skills, you can seriously make them taste JUST like ice cream. Guar gum is a lifesaver of mine - you only need to add a tablespoon to your blender, with fruit, milk, protein powder, stevia, vanilla extract, nonfat unsweetened yogurt/kefir and your favorite flavors (I love vanilla cinnamon, pb&j, chocolate peanut butter, and strawberry banana cinnamon), and a whole tray of ice, and water, then it blends into this monstrously huge shake that usually lasts me for 2-3 meals! It stays quite low calorie too, if you don't go crazy with the peanut butter ;) I want kids very much (I already want one, but I'm trying to be patient), and I am dreading the preggers weight gain too. I'm just glad that I now know you only need another 300 calories a day! My mom binged on ice cream and brownies 24/7 while she was pregnant with me and my sisters, and she gained around 100 pounds - NOT what I plan on doing! Yes, pregnancy probably causes psycho intense cravings like the TOM cravings x 100, but since we are clean eaters and have the know-how to make healthy versions of what we want, I am remaining hopeful! :)
To be pregnant is not that easy, there are important things that must be consider which includes proper dieting, exercising and a lot more. With a proper diet and exercise benefits a lot to the mother and to the child as well.

Hanna, you rock! I love this post; I gained well over 65 pounds when I was pregnant with Livy. I really wished that I would've taken easy with the food intake. If I ever have another child, that pregnancy will be soooo different than my first.
Hang in there Hanna you've recognized there is an issue and are committed to fixing that issue. I,too, gained way too much with my 2 kids (68 lbs with #1 and 70+ with #2) because I thought I could eat anything and everything in sight. Keep up your healthy eating and exercise you are doing great!
love you hanna! one of my favorite snacks when i was pregnant was veggie slices in humus! i would have rather ate pita chips or crackers in hummus but obviously veggies are a lot better and less fattening then crackers! ; ) you got this girl!
You know how to eat properly so there's so faith there. Use your weight gain as a motivator to say no. I am lazy and won't drive to get something I am craving and also do not keep the crap in the house. Throw the bad stuff out and treat yourself to some junk once a week. You'll feel a million times better :-)
You have the attitude and will power of a woman that can do ANYTHING! I agree, protein shakes might help. Fruits and veggies. Try to find snacks that are lower in fat, sugar, cals. Maybe look for vegan or organic stuff? Within budget of course, those sometimes have less sugar, are more natural, raw, etc. Try not to have those "bad" snacks on hand. I know, easier said than done. Just suggestions. Ohhh, cut up banana and freeze slices. Then take out and put in blender. It makes "ice cream" with a sweet/banana flavor that may "fool" your taste buds. Much Love!
