MOTIVATION




Lets get motivated people!!!!!! 

I like to print out my favorite saying and tape them to my bathroom mirror in the kitchen. It really does work and keep you motivated!!!!!

My Saturday Long Run Simulator

SO this is like a little try out post for Juneathon. Because every single day you people are going to be having to listen to posts like this. I hope I don't bore you to DEATH!!!!






Since I'm still out of running commission, I try to do a really long workout at least once a week so today it was as follows:  

#1. 45 minuets elliptical varying resistance 10-15 = 420 calories

#2. 60 minuet spin class + 20 min ab work after ward = about 1000 calories

#3. 1 mile swim (30 laps) = no clue how  many calories but I'd guess 400 calories.

That was 3.5 hours of straight working out and I was BEAT!!! 

BUT thanks to Yo Mamma Runs I learned it's a good idea to simulate a long run one day a week with multiple sport workouts when you can't run. 



KICK BUTT SPIN CLASS 60 min.

Oh and I have an ab workout vlog coming for you that I PROMISE will hurt like the dickens!!!!!! GET READY!

WHAT I ATE TODAY:

Breakfast: Clif Bar
Lunch: big salad with romaine, carrot, and red onion. A small bowl of blueberry cluster Kashi serial.
Snack: a bowl of fresh berries
Dinner: one small slice of pizza and Dannon light and fit yogurt
Dessert: a skinny cow ice cream sandwhich


OHHHH and EXCITING NEWS!!!! 

I have been spinning 5 days a week with regular running shoes. IT'S HORRIBLE!!!! If your really going to take it seriously you NEED a pair of clip in bike shoes. So just so happens REI is having a weekend sale. I got these for $65 bucks normally $100.,These are just for beginners but a GREAT Start for me!!! WHOOTY WHOOT. I'll let you know once they arrive how they work out!!!







Their not that ugly!!! Not that I care anyway!!!



Oh and one more thing!!! MY awesome mama being worried about me and my injury bought me some awesome organic vitamins to take everyday just in case I was deficient which I am sure I was. New Chapter are my favorite. I used the prenatal the entire time I was pregnant with both my kids. They cost about $50 bucks a bottle but are  100% organic and made from real food so your body actually digests them and absorbs them unlike the cheap crap you buy at any old pharmacy. I think the studies show that those vitamins only get 30%  absorbed or something ridiculous. 

SO HEARS TO MANY MORE HEALTHFUL DAYS. AWESOME 3 HOUR WORKOUTS AND A SPEEDY HEAL ON THIS LEG! 

and I'm of to work for 3 nights so you might not see me for a few days!

Real Friends? What Friends?




Ever since I had kids all my real life friends have kinda disappeared. 

It's totally not their fault!!!!!!!!
 
I guess it's not mine either, we just have very different life styles, live in different places and all have VERY busy schedules.

I also for financial reasons we cannot afford to have a cell phones and I have decided to discontinue my personal facebook account so that doesn't leave many lines of communication open.

Their at the tapas bar at 8pm for dinner and drinks  and I'm doing bath, book and bedtime routines and cleaning up splattered food and rotten milk.

It's just life, but it makes me sad sometimes!!!

I remember night after night for years on end in my early twenties when I would just sit with my bestie or my girfriends and just gossip and chat about stupid silly things for hours and hours on end.

I feel alone alot . I guess that's probably why I have this blog because I don't have any real friends left so I guess I can have all you lovely cyber friends who I don't really know but I am so grateful for you because you keep me going on a daily basis.

Juneathon......I'm So In


UPDATE:
So, I went to the orthopedic doc this morning. He did an X-ray and it was clean!!!! 

NO STRESS FRACTURE!!!!!!!!!! 

People, this is HUGE really big, extra exciting news!!!! Yes, there is definitely still something wrong with me but at least my leg isn't broken. 
I;m so grateful!
So, in 2 weeks I'm going for a bone scan to determine exactly what is wrong with my leg. Basically it's a test where they inject you with some nasty radioactive dye and then scan your legs and wherever the inflammation is, lights up, and the doc can see the pattern and blood flow. So, I am excited to find out what is wrong so I can get on with fixing it.

However, in the meantime he said keep on R.I.C.E.ing and he said it was fine for me to spin, swim and do the elliptical so I'm happy with that! 

So for now this is still my leg strapped with ice packs every day but I am very hopeful now that I know it's not broken!!! 



SOOOOOOOOOOOO....................On to JUNEATHON!!!!!!



My bloggy, runner  friend Christy from {The Buhrs}hipped me to this awesome challenge Juneathon. As soon as I heard about it, I knew I HAD to do it. 

It's the perfect thing to keep me motivated while I can't run. It's going to keep me motivated all month and probably will drive all of you INSANE and I'm sure you'll be so sick and tired of me by the end of the month but I gotta do it!!! 

So, the deal is, you work out every single day the entire month and blog about it everyday. Even though I can't run yet, I will cram in as many other work out's as I can. I'm excited.

He Plays the Drums






Sunday night my husband had a special gig at a brewery here in town!!! 

It was the second annual craw fish boil which is pretty rare in these parts. 

So, my very talented hubby being from New Orleans brought his groovin' funk band to light up the evening!!! 


When we were dating and first married, I used to go to EVERY and I mean EVERY gig of my husband's. 

Well, obviously things changed dramatically after having 2 babies a year apart, but on this night my mom decided to come along and help out so we could all go. 

It was wonderful!! 



Of course I had just been at the gym working out for 2 hours STRAIGHT so I was a hot mess and didn't have time to shower so I think I did pretty darn good considering. 

A lot of makeup and hairspray will so the trick!!!! 
This is what I wore!!! 


Somehow, being married to a musician who actively gigs is a little intimidating. 

I don't mean I'm intimidated by him but the people who know him and the audience members have a certain idea of what they think a "rock star's" wife is supposed to look like.

I know this sounds TOTALLY freakin ridiculous but I'm very serious. I'm always careful not to look like a total wreck whenever I go to his shows. 

I feel like there is a certain responsibility to look appropriately cute for his business sake. It's sort of like everyone is pointing you out going, "oh, that's the drummer's wife"! 

Call me crazy but if any of you other women have musician husbands or boyfriends, 

do you feel the same way????

Workout Sunday

Since I spent the entire day on Saturday PIGGING OUT!!!!!! 

I decided I needed a little kick in the booty on Sunday!!! 

First I walked the kids 2 miles in the double BOB and then strapped ice to my leg as I do everyday for the past month! 

SICK. OF. IT.






Then I went to the gym to hit it hard!!! 

WOW.....I haven't looked this grouchy in a very long time! 

SO I did 25 min on the treadmill at 15 incline and 3.5 pace. Burned 200 calories.

Then I did 35 min on the elliptical on resistance 12 and burned 288 calories.






Then I hit the pool!!!!! 


I swam 30 laps or 1 mile in 25 minuets and was pretty tires after all that!!! 

Ahh....Haaaa......and don't I look cute! BLECH!!!!



Tomorrow I am planning an hour spinning class and then a mile swim with my mom. Not sure how I talked her into that one but it will good for her!

My Birthday Recap



My birthday was wonderful!!!! 

The day started out with me sleeping in till 7:30AM. WOO HOO! 

Then my mom babysat for the kids for 2 hours so my hubby and I could go to a spin class together. 

I loved every second and my husband was very surprised at how difficuilt it was but he liked it too! He rides an "actual" bike so it wasn't totally foreign to him.




Then we spent most of the day just lazing around and playing with the kids. After nap time we went to an early dinner at one of our favorite steak houses. We sat in the bar so the kids could be wild ans not disturb anyone. They were very well behaved! 



However, I had the worst diet today I have had in weeks. I ate about 4 skinny cows for lunch. Then at dinner at ate fried oysters and fried shrimp PLUS a baked potato AND a slice of pie!!!! 

OMG...........That was painful just typing. 
Thank God yesterday I did one hour of cadio and a one mile swim!!!

Is it safe to say I am completely and totally obsessed with running??? 

YES!!!!!



I'd say I  made out pretty darn good and thank you all so much for the birthday wishes. I must admit I do miss facebook when it comes to birthdays:)

Just curious......have any of you done a triathlon before????

I am VERY interested in doing one as soon as I run my marathon on October. Let me know your thoughts! I've been LOVING the spinning and swimming so I figure I might as well go for it!!! 

By the way of I don't start running soon I am seriously going to loose my mind!!!!!! 

I will NEVER, EVER again be so care free in my training, stretching program!!!! NOTHING and I mean NOTHING is worth the agony of not being able to run! I can take 3 spin classes in a row and it still doesn't compare!!! 

MUST RUN!!!!!!!!
